Fever Updates

Her fever went away when I checked on her at 330am last night.

However, her fever came back in the morning and goes up and down the whole day. Well, she was really cranky and hard to please today *pulls hair* I am canceling her class tomorrow. Let's hope that she gets more rest and recover soon.

Ohh... I still have a mountain of clothes to fold and pack! "Sigh"

UTI Review

Early morning at 8am, we brought Shannon to KKH for VCUG

Initially, we opted to let Shannon sleep thru the procedure thinking of minimising her trauma to the test but was advised by the nurse that it is no good for her brain and it will take longer for the test to be done. Thus, we decided to go ahead with her eyes wide big.. :(

Its a traumatic day for her... She was all straped up and was crying non stop for the ordeal. I was inside holding her hand and trying to calm her down while she was struggling and screaming for help.. she stared straight in my eyes, crying for my help to get her out of that place... I feel really helpless and heartache to see her going thru the test.

Finally after 30 minutes, she released her urine in her bladder and doc said everything is okay and no scaring of her bladder...PHEW....

Shannon seems to very tired today... She was asking for her tibits right after we reached home.. I gave her some, put her on the sofa and went back to the kitchen to finish up some work. Somehow, i find its unusually quiet in the living room, so i went out and saw her sleeping in a sitting postion with the tibits lying on the sofa... :P

Baby Bonanza 2006 Semi-Final

Today is the semi-final of the baby bonanza 2006... went to compass point earlier for lunch before the contest starts... However, during lunch time, Shannon choked on a piece of meat and vomitted on herself.. :( quickly clean her up with water in the toilet ... although we brought extra clothing for her but i still find her abit smelly.. hehehe

As you can see on the second picture.. she started to lost her temper and was cranky all the way due to the earlier vomitting .. to make thing worse, the contest started later than expected... and she is getting more and more tired.. Daddy was standing in front of the stage in order to capture some memories.. I was trying to please her by running after her and pleasing her...

Finally, its our turn!! We went up the stage and again started some interview... She is sleepy so throughout the short interview, she is not really smiling at all... Frankly speaking, among the 20 toddlers, Shannon definitely had high chance squeezing into the Finals.... Guess the host is also trying to help me by asking a crucial question and I screwed it up. I was asked if Shannon's dress is bought specially for this event and my answer is NO!!! hahaha.. well, i am being frank but judges and the sponsors will definitely prefered someone who have a high regard for the event.

After result, we headed straight back home to have a good rest. We are contented that we have a chance to experience this contest and proud that Shannon is in the top 20 of all submitted entries...

Deep in our heart, Shannon is still our beloved prettiest princess... ^_^

We received a letter 2 weeks ago stating that Shannon have been selected to the Qualifying Round of Pretty baby... thus went to Centrepoint this morning to try our luck.. Out of thousand of babies, we are proud that she is one of them in the 40 babies selected ! She took a nap before her turn.. and she is like very blur when she is on stage.. She walk up to the stage and sit in front of the judges smiling at them.. :P and of course she got into the Semi-Final!

After watching the fireworks on the national day... we decided to bring Shannon to watch again... We never really keen to watch fireworks in Singapore.. It is always so crowded.. parking is problem.. going home another problem... Nevertheless, we would like Shannon to get more exposure instead of staying at home playing toys or window shopping... According to Shichida Methods, we should expose her to different kinds of visual or physical programs/activities... We went together with Soonlye, Nicole and their dear daughter, Claire.. Claire was so excited when the fireworks started, she claps until her hands were red and swollen... SoonLye have stop her from clapping out of no choice... As for Shannon, she is still quite blur when watching the fireworks... She did not make any noise, just a few claps and her eyes just glued to the sky....

Doctor's First Review

Shannon was busy playing while waiting for her turn.

After taking antibiotic for almost 2 mths, shannon had her first doctor's review with regards to her UTI. Everything looks fine but still need to wait for the result after her urine culture. We need to make an appointment 2 weeks later for VCUG.

A VCUG is an x-ray exam that allows them to visualize shannon's bladder and ability to empty his/ her bladder. A catheter (a small, soft, flexible tube) will need to be placed into her bladder through the urethra (the tube that drains urine from the bladder) and a special iodinated contrast liquid that shows up well on x-rays will be introduced through the catheter in order to fill the bladder.

Let's pray everything is alright...

National Day Firework

Today is National Day... Too bad, we did not managed to get tickets to watch the National Parade... After Shichida Class, we went to Marina South for dinner, as we know we can catch glimpse of firework there. We ordered our favourite Curry Chicken and Fish Head Curry... After dinner, we went to the field and waited for the firework... Shannon was happily walking around and watching ppl playing soccer... After a long wait, we finally saw the firework... Shannon is fascinated over the firework... she look astonished and could not take her eyes off the sky...

We entered the "Super Walker" for Shannon. This is our first time participating contest.. Auntie Jo and Uncle Dean were kind enough to accompany us. They are a great helper to us! They love Shannon and so do Shannon... The queue at Compass point is scary...we waited about 1 hr for our turn. Well, we are not there to win the contest but to experience it. We actually enjoyed the afternoon...

At night, went to the Birthday Celebration of Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather. We dressed up our dear Shannon to a princess... Although she is not very co-operative at times, we still enjoyed our dinner.

Shichida Class today is still a nightmare us.. Shannon was walking around the class and teacher suggested us to do 5 min suggestion. However, we will endure for our dear daughter. We strongly believe that one day she will enjoy her class.. After the class, we went to Gong Gong House for a small family gathering.. When we pass by the swimming pool , Shannon will be very excited and wanted to go into the pool. However, we just let her kick the water for awhile and went for our dinner.

We went to the toy's sales today at Takashimaya... Luckily Auntie Jo and Uncle Dean joined us, at least we have time to shop for her toys. Spend $200+ on kitchen set and a magnetic board for drawing with some birthday presents for our friends' kid.

Once we reached home, daddy opened up the magetic board for bb to play.. She was so fascinated by toys we bought! This toy cost us only $29.90 !! Definitly a good buy! We intend to let her play her kitchen set a few months later.

Today is the 3rd lesson of Shichida Lesson.. Hmmm Shannon is not paying much attention in the class.. well, I am more tired than her when attending this shichida lesson.. .. but she started to make friends with her classmates... Her teacher suggested us to do a five minutes session with her .. its something like injecting information into her sub-conscious mind immediately after she fall asleep.. Got to really try man!

After the lesson, we went to Grandpa Francis's home.. They love Shannon alot .. They miss her every week.. Look at how Gong Gong sayang her..

I was tidying up her clothes this evening and saw a set of clothes she never wear before. Thus I took out and changed her into that piece just to take some photos. :P Then I asked her to take out her pacifier cos it doesn't look nice in photo.. She refused but I insisted, pull out the pacifier and put it on top of the drawer. As you can see in the photos, she start screaming and jumping away till I relented... "Sigh"

Shannon and Daddy

Yesterday, Shannon went for her 2nd Shichida Lesson.. Hmmm.. sometimes I wished that I would have know Shichida Methods either earlier or later.. because she is at the age of exploring things now, thus not really paying attention in class..hehe

As usual, we went for window shopping on Sunday.. at causeway pt again.. hahaha.. its our Sunday's hang out place with auntie jo and uncle dean.. We will have coffee at ah kun and walk around the place and of course Shannon will get her toy rides every week.. Being a parent is always in dilemma.. we want to see her happy and cute face when she enjoy the rides, but we are scare that she will always wants more than a ride.

Shannon was Discharged on 12 July 2006

Shannon was discharged on 12 July 2006. She was give 8 bottles!! of antibiotic!! My poor bb..

She had a very bad diarrhea that day.. 12 times !!.. we brought her to see a doctor and was given some acidophiles to cure her diarrhea .. Luckily on the 14th, she is much better but I am down with flu and cough..

She starts to eat a little...like 60ml of milk after 8 hrs... well.. better than nothing.. we still forced her to drink water from syringe every 2 hrs ... Her gluclose drip was taken off at about 1pm and we took her to ultrascan to check her bladder?? Here again, she was screaming and wailing when the nurse was trying to "scan" her...

Auntie Jeslyn visited her at about 7+ and our bb showed her how she throw the dirty clothes in the laundry basket...lol

I was waken up by the nurse in the middle of night about 4am telling me that they will put Shannon on gluclose drip... So she is restricted to her bed from now on...

Doctor came in around 9am and said that bb might be able to discharge tomorrow if her fever goes away + she start to drink/eat.

bb has not been eating or drinking since lunch... we have to force her to drink water from syringe... sorry bb... i know u must be hating daddy and mummy.... but its all for your own good.. hmmm... sound familiar...

BB was fast asleep after an antibiotic drip at 1030pm... Daddy went home around 1130pm and I went to rest immediately... it has been tiring... but I must have energy to take care of my precious bb..

Daddy came at 9am and I went for a bath to freshen up. Her fever still went up and down today... This morning, her blood sample and urine was collected for test. Daddy was screaming away when the nurse squeezed Shannon's lower arm after the doctor pricked Shannon's middle finger. She is feeling okay this after playing with grandpa n grandma... exploring around ..

until...

The Doctor came at about 10pm to inform us that Shannon was having Urinary Tract Infection!! She need to be on antibiotic drip and this is the only faster way to bring down her fever and prevent another fits... Then, they brought her to the Treatment Room and her wailing, screaming starts! My heart was like tearing apart when I was standing helplessly outside the room....My Poor baby...

After soothing and calming her, we patted her to sleep... She fell asleep after the tiring torture...

Shannon was Hospitalized!!

Our Dear Baby was hospitalised!

Shannon kenna "febrile fits" while we were on the way home. It is really a scary sight... She was sleeping in her car seat when we heard her crying, we thought that she had bad dream but when daddy checked on her, her eyes were wide open and she looks like she is kicking her leg... He immediately pulled over his car and carried her out of the car, she was so stiff and she don't respond to us no matter how hard we try talk to her, so Daddy drove her to the nearest hospital. Her fits was over when she reached there, but she was still having a high fever, doc suggested to admit her for checkup as she is still so young and this is her first fit, so we requested to be refer to KKH after her fever subsided abit. We reached KK about 11, admitted her. I took one hour to coax her to sleep, but the docs keep coming into the ward to check on her. 3 doctors came and ask the same question and checked on her. I was fed up when the last one tried to look at her ears AGAIN, I asked them why couldn't they checked with the other doctor or rather they should have done it earlier when she is still awake. It took me so long to calm her down and finally fell asleep and they are coming in one by one disturbing her. Daddy left at 1+ while I accompanied Shannon. I couldn't sleep at all... I woke up so many times to check on her temperature.... I hope everything will be fine soon.

High Fever Again

This morning, her fever shot up again... almost 41degrees!!! We sponged her and brought her to KK hospital. The doctor said that she have got an ulcer in ther throat that cause the fever... She is given only paracetamol and no antibiotic given because its a viral infection in which Shannon herself got to fight it by herself. We went home after breakfast... She took a nap and woke up with no fever... and start playing around.

Her fever climbed to 39 degree at about 2am... We have to sponge her till the temp. subside.. After sponghing, we cleaned her up and she is wide awake... Took some photos, played awhile and went to bed at about 4am.

After playing with the pooh, she started to search for new toys in her drawer. After her few minutes, she took out the shape sorter but not sorting the shapes, she put a drumsticks inside and make sound out of it.. haha

We bought this "pooh bear can walk" a few months back. We always thought that the pooh bear will walk and talk when hand pressed. And we thought we have to pressed the pooh bear hand everytime to start the pooh bear walking.

Suddenly, today, I saw shannon keep on tapping the pooh bear head whenever the pooh bear stop walking. After observing quite a while, we realised that this pooh bear is actually sound activated!! @_@. I was like Wow!! She is really good with toys!

She loves this pooh bear, she will play, kiss and give the pooh bear a big hug. She will picked up the pooh bear when the pooh bear fell down or sometimes purposely push pooh bear and pick it up again. Glad that we have bought something she loves to play with

Shannon woke up at 8 am this morning!!

"sigh" so early... so we have to get up for her... and ate "kuay chap" bought by Jonathan... played awhile and took nap around 11am.. Woke up at 1230pm, bathe her and went out at 130pm to meet Mum Rosie for lunch at Great World City. After lunch, took some pictures for Shannon and Lydia. Ever since I started work in April, I seldom take pictures for my dear daughter... feeling so guilty... so I need make a point to bring my digital camera every weekend to capture abit of her. Look at theses pictures took, she has grown up but still the cutest, prettiest and the dearest bb to me... ^_^

After window shopping, we went to Renee's house for a gathering. Before we reached there, we brought Shannon the playground. She was so happy playing with the slide... This time round, she turn on the air con, so nice and considerate of her... although I am still perspiring but I really appreciated her kindness... lol..

After having dinner, Shannon was seating quietly on the sofa enjoying her tibits and watching her favourite vcd while I took some photos for the kids in the house.

Shannon had her MMR injection on 27 June and she is having on and off fever since then. She has seen a doctor and had taken her medicine but the fever just don't go away. This afternoon, she is still okay, thats why we brought her out but her temp rised and we had to paste the cooling pat on her forehead. After having dinner, we headed home ....

The first time, we brought Shannon to the Christmas lighting..

I am so tired.. Shannon woke up at 8am again..refused to go back to bed.. no choice, pulled myself out of the bed.. to let papa and my sis sleep longer. Carried her to living room and let her sit in her walker while I read my sunday times. Papa woke up at 9+, carried shannon down to hawker centre to "dabao" laksa. We took our breakfast when papa came back. Later, Shannon then went back to bed at 11plus while papa went downstairs to bath his "mistress in red.. "Shannon woke up at 12+ and I fed her some cereal. well, I don't like feeding her cos her mouth is always closed.. guess she don't like to eat/drink except BM. Sometimes, I just wonder when my patience will run out.. Papa came back around 2 and vacuumed the house. About 4, we went to marina square.. walked around, took some pictures and went for our dinner at Spaghetti House. It has been like 5 years since I last dined there.. and. the calamari's standard has dropped!

After dinner, i told ja that we were not going to shop but to take more photographs. I was quite enthusiastic enjoying the christmas lighting and decoration but ja was very moody... maybe he is tired but if it is the case then might as well don't come. I have to admit that he had somehow spoiled my mood.. so i started to be "sian".. and wanted to go home.. I know I may be too much by wanting to take every single photo for Shannon everywhere.. but I just didn't wan to miss anything. Moreover, she was getting tired so it won't be long b4 we stopped taking pics wif her.. Anyway, ja's mood seemed to get better as we strolled from Paragon to Centrepoint, took some photos.... True enough, Shannon couldn't take it and fell asleep while we walked back to Paragon.

Shannon was awake when we reached home around 10. I bathed her and put her into pajamas.. Got my sis to look after her while I did some laundry.. finally i had my shower and started to coax Shannon to bed.. finally she was asleep around 12 while I continued with my laundry and slept around 1am+ . SO TIRED

Few weeks ago, I entered Shannon in the cutest baby contest and today is the audition day. I brought a few clothes to my mum's place for my sis to choose. Reached the studio around 4, worrying that Shannon would nnot perform well during the photo shoot... Surprisingly, it was a breeze... with the help of Auntie Jeslyn and "baby tigger"; she was smiling all the way till the photograher herself couldn't stop snapping... After the audition, we went to Tiong Bahru to do some shopping, then to Jon’s BBQ at my FIL's place. Shannon did not wan her GM and GF to carry her for long, she kept clinging on to me. Anyway, during the "free" time, I joined in the karaoke session... cooool... Shannon was still in my tummy when I went Karaoke last dec... time really flies...
